Gail and Chris welcome all customers old and new to their delightful pub at Halwill Junction, which  is a handsome Victorian building situated on the A3079 midway between Okehampton and Bude.

With an amazing atmosphere, traditional features, roaring fire, good food, local real ales, local ciders, lagers and great company – this is the place to bring your friends and family for a memorable lunch, dinner or drink! The spacious bar area is ideal for entertaining and catching up with all the latest news and our comfortable dining areas and Platform 2 Restaurant are perfect for enjoying great pub grub for families, hikers, dog walkers and fishermen. Please note that dogs are welcome outside on the patio area and inside but in the snug only.

We have an enviable reputation for fabulous home cooked pub food, traditional Sunday roasts and freshly prepared pizzas to eat in or take out, which are complimented by our superb range of real ales, lagers and ciders.

Please note that booking is essential due to social distancing requirements.

Join us for fun with friends and family for a great night out at regular quiz nights, open mike nights, bingo nights and food themed menu nights.

Now that’s what I call a Sunday lunch!

Visited on Sunday for lunch, a happy lively atmosphere greeted us when we arrived and our roast meals were superb! As my sister wiped the last bit of gravy from her plate she said that was one the best roasts she’d had in a long time and the rest of us couldnt agree more! The 4 clean plates we sent back to the kitchen told their own story. Thanks Chris & the team for a perfect end to our family weekend.

The best sirloin steak I have eaten for a long time.

A great little pub. Great food and well kept beer. Treated myself to a local gin and tonic and the best sirloin steak I have eaten for a long time,The staff were very welcoming and everywhere was very clean. We visited the Junction Inn twice while visiting this lovely area, only sorry we don’t live nearer and it could be our local.

We are in our hols nearby and this pub had been recommended to us by the people who own where we are staying. We first walked in, it’s fairly small compared to what we have in our area. Staff very friendly and welcoming. We had a couple of drinks and order the chicken and ham pie…… came with loads of veg and mash. The pie was lovely. So much chicken and ham in it. Sometimes you go into somewhere that you’ve never been before and don’t know quite what to expect. We score this 10/10!!!!

Excellent Pub – Found on our last day. Stayed locally at the Ruby Lodges and decided to go here on our last day before heading back to Sussex. Great pub, good locally cooked sourced food and lovely owners. Sad that we didn’t check it out a few days before. We will be back that’s for sure. Highly recommended for families with children as well.
